Vancouver

The 14 hr flight went well with the girls making full use of our 'sky couch' and sleeping lots. We slept on and off, but were less comfortable than this....

At the airport we found an enormous vehicle for all our gear-luckily no shortage of them in Canada! First impressions of Vancouver city - a beautiful, clean city that is not too full-on and very cycle friendly.  We have found Canadians SUPER friendly and helpful. They are all too willing to help out and give advice. Frida thinks the children are more friendly than Kiwi kids.

We spent four days staying at a tiny apartment at Kitsilano Beach, just over the water from downtown Vancouver. It is a delightful green suburb with gorgeous and lovely spring gardens.

We visited the space museum, biked around Stanley Park, went to the amazing aquarium, explored on a wee ferry, patted every dog in the city (Tama would fit right in here) and sampled many of the playgrounds.

Ettie is becoming more of a daredevil each day!

The ferry we used to get around Vancouver when we weren't on our bikes

We have struck excellent spring weather and spent the evenings chilling on the busy beach surrounded by Vancouverites volleyballing, running, biking, chilling, and playing tennis- Frida and Kate were the only ones swimming!

The girls have adjusted well to travel (a bit jet lagged - late to bed and late wake ups).  We are all disappointed that good coffee and ice cream are hard to come by in Canada! From Vancouver we are heading to Vancouver Island to begin life in the RV.
